About

Telltail at the Vale is Central Arkansas’ premiere positive reinforcement training facility. We offer boarding with training, board and trains, day training, group classes, and private lessons.

Our lead trainer, Elizabeth Silverstein is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and AKC Evaluator who started her dog training career in 2017. She has worked full-time in Central Arkansas with her business, Telltail Dog Training, since 2020. She is excited to take this next step with a facility, and she views Telltail at the Vale a wonderful way to offer new services and train a team.

Q&A

What type of training do you offer? We offer training for basics, reactivity, aggression, leash manners, recall, polite greetings, Canine Good Citizen and therapy dog training, trick training, puppy classes and socialization, adolescent training, rescue integration and kids/babies and dogs. If we cannot provide services, we will offer referrals.

What services do you offer? We offer boarding with training, day training drop offs, group classes, and private lessons at the facility. We also offer private lessons at the client’s home, and group classes at SoMa Animal Clinic and Bow Wow and Meow Bakery.

How much are your services? Overnight from Thursday to Monday is $125 per night. We also have a board and train option available. We will provide daily updates and make sure we’re hitting your goals. Daily drop off training (no boarding) is $90 for the day. Group classes are $260 for six weeks and each team is given individual attention and each class is modified as needed. Private lessons start at $125 for an hour. We are offering for a limited time special rates of $75 for the day and $100 for overnight.

What is positive reinforcement training? Positive reinforcement training is simply using what your dog finds reinforcing (this can be treats, play, praise and/or pets. There are also primary and secondary reinforcement opportunities.). We use the foundations of dog training to help your dog understand and opt into communication to build trust and change behavior. Positive reinforcement is not “purely positive” or “permissive training”. It sets up associations and builds trust when used correctly, and is more than just giving dogs food. We prefer to show the dogs in our care what they should be doing instead of punishing them for what they shouldn’t be doing.
